Piet Oudolf

In his gardens, the Dutch landscape designer Piet Oudolf creates complex textural mosaics of muted colours.

The mix displays matrixs of the delicately upright Gillenia trifoliata with wispy white flowers and horizontal layers of Kirengeshoma palmata leaves topped by delicate pale yellow bells in late summer, globes of grey-green baptisia leaves and feathery plumes of deschampsia, accents of bronze- leaved actaea, and the contrast of blood-red astrantia
